Krasnodara Gashparova, DDS

As a top-rated dentist near you, Dr. Gashparova has been practicing dentistry for nearly two decades. Interested in chemistry and biology from a young age, she pursued a Doctor of Dental Science from University of Medicine, School of Dental Science in Sofia, Bulgaria. Graduating in 1996, she started her own private dental office before eventually moving to California and completing her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2005. Trained in CEREC and Invisalign technology, she is always looking for ways to hone her skills and expand her knowledge. When she isn’t helping patients achieve healthier smiles, she and her husband of 21 years enjoy spending time with their two daughters. She also enjoys performing traditional Bulgarian dances as well as watching her daughter play soccer, travel, and play with her rescued cats.

Juan Martinez, DDS

While in college, Dr. Martinez knew he would become a dentist after volunteering at a free dental clinic in Berkeley, CA. Completing his doctorate at the NYU College of Dentistry, he completed a post-graduate residency at NY Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. As a member of various professional dental organizations, he remains up to date on the latest changes and advancements in dentistry. When he isn’t in the office, you will find him spending time with his wife, Daisy, of seven years as well as enjoying time with his son, Nicolas. Dr. Martinez is also often found watching sports (often rooting for the California Golden Bears), taking bike rides, and reading.

You can always reach out to our team for a specific answer, or you can read on to learn the answers to a few of the most frequently asked questions we hear.

How do I find the best place to get braces?

Naturally, the first step is to solidify what you’re looking for. Would you prefer a location that’s close to your work, office, or school? Are you looking for a non-judgmental, kind, and talented team? Are you looking for a practice that welcomes dental insurance? The answers to questions like these will help you find the best place to get braces.

Fortunately, our team at Duo Orthodontics meets all of these requirements and more! In addition to having two practices, we have an exceptional team and welcome dental insurance. If you want to learn more about what sets us apart from the rest, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team!

What do you do if you can't afford an orthodontist?

If you think you can’t afford an orthodontist, think again! At Duo Orthodontics, we offer three affordable payment options to ensure that braces fit into your budget. To start, we’re proud to work with many popular dental insurance providers, including MetLife, Aetna, Cigna, and Guardian. If you don’t have dental insurance, don’t worry – we also offer in-house financing and periodic special offers. During your initial consultation, we’ll help you understand the cost and share all of our financial options. That way, price isn’t what stands in your way of the gorgeous smile you deserve.

How can I find a female orthodontist?

If you’d prefer a female orthodontist, one of the best places to look is Google. Simply typing in “female orthodontist near me” will provide you with a long list of search results for providers who fit that criteria. Of course, you can also ask family and friends for their recommendations.

We’re proud to have a talented, trained, and passionate female orthodontist on our team, Dr. Marcia Lewis. To learn all about her background and her journey to becoming a top-rated Marietta orthodontist, visit the “Meet the Doctors” page on our website.

What level of education is required to be an orthodontist?

One of the first steps is to earn a bachelor’s degree, usually in a major that is heavy in math and science. From there, they need to earn their dental doctorate at one of 67 Accredited dental schools in the United States. Lastly, they need to undergo additional training in orthodontics specifically. After becoming an orthodontist, they need to complete continuing education courses annually. Active memberships with notable organizations, like the American Association of Orthodontists, are also a great way to stay up to date on the latest techniques and technology.
