Although fruits and vegetables are certainly essential to maintain good health, biting into a raw apple or carrot can damage your braces. You could accidentally pop a bracket off or bend a wire. The best way to consume these nutrient-rich foods would be to cook them until they’re nice and soft!

Crunchy Grains

While most grains are easy on the teeth, certain ones can cause issues. Hard, crusty bread and unground grains (i.e., cracked wheat) can get stuck in your braces and be difficult to remove.
